Change

It's my son's Red Letter Day in school yesterday. It is his last day of being in a Junior High. All parents are expected to come to take their child's report card. Well, i am very proud that my son never failed me in getting high grades in all his academic subjects. He actually graduated as Valedictorian in elementary. I am not carrying my own bench here, i am just a mother who is very proud of her son.(my son's report card)
He will be graduating in high school next school year and i am very excited and nervous at the same time. Time really run out so fast and it seems that it was just yesterday when i am playing with my son and carrying him in my arms. But then, as what they said, "change is the only constant thing in this world". . My son is not getting any younger, he's not that naughty toddler anymore. He now have his personal life and mature enough for his age. But this is the reality. i must accept the fact that he's growing old now. The best way to deal with it is to play along with it and accept it wholeheartedly.
I am so proud of him and i always pray for his success in the near future. I love you son.

Holy Week

It's been my tradition already that every Holy Week, I try to avoid eating meat. It's nothing more like a fasting for me. Holy Week is one of the most important religious Festival here in the Philippines or also known as "Semana Santa". Most of the business Establishments here are having later opening, early closing or having shut down operation every Holy Week. Last night, Holy Thursday, my son and i went to our province in Cavite to make "Visita Iglesia", a popular tradition which usually involves going to 7 different churches. Wish i could take some photos of the churches we visited, but as a matter of respect, i dare not to bring my camera. Today, Good Friday, is still a legal Holiday here. We are about to watch the "Senakulo", a passion play.
Also today, as a part of my fasting, i ate "Lumpiang Sariwa or Fresh Lumpia" for my breakfast. Freah Lumpia is a common Filipino appetizer. It is very easy to prepare "Freshj Lumpia", You can use any type of vegetables you want. I got some Cabbage, "Ubod" or Peach palm, "Sayote" or Chayote, and carrots.
Here's how to start. Prepare necessary ingredients including the wrappers or crepes. Sliced all the veggies. You can actually include some meats here either chicken , ground pork or beef but as what i said, i do not eat meat during Holy Week. Stir fry the veggies then set aside. Place the veggies inside the wrapper and roll it.
For the sauce. All you need is corn starch, soysauce, brown sugar, vinegar, crushed garlic, and water. Mixed all the ingredients and saute it in a pan. Presto! You now have a healthy, yummy fresh Lumpia.

Sleeping With Wet Hair

Filipino has been very superstitious. It has been said that going to bed with wet hair will cause blindness, migraines or even pneumonia. Though some have reported getting a headache, still, it hasn't been proven that sleeping wet hair can cause serious condition like not being able to see. As for colds, well, i guess you can only catch it if you come across a virus. At the very least, you'll wake up with bedhead hair.

Experience the Royalty

My Sister-in-law invited me and my son to attend a mass somewhere in Alabang. I really had so much fun and i must say that the place is very amazing. The church offers some great attractions outside where we are allowed to take some photos with these vintage cars.

And we all know how expensive they are.. Well, this is a once in a life time opportunity so i take advantage of it and took some photos.
How about riding in a Lemo?
Experience the royalty living while riding in a royal gold plated coach. Just imagine that you'll be attending a ball just like Cinderella.
Here i am posing beside this vintage vehicle. I wonder how much does it cost.

Here's another vintage car.. Come on! let's have a ride!
